Lean Manufacturing
Lean manufacturing works on a simple principle, seeing the bigger picture. Organizations must move away from departmentalized thinking and must move towards seeing the organization as one entity. It doesn’t matter how well one department performs; it matters how well you perform as an organization. For an example, even though your design department is great, it will mean nothing if your manufacturing department is not doing well. One of the keys to building a lean environment is treating your customers and suppliers as partners. This will make you strong in price, quality and delivery and then you can deliver high quality goods at a low price.
